It is important to have a church home — a place to worship God, a place to learn and grow in your faith, and a place you come to in times of trouble. If it’s a church home you seek, consider True Word Outreach Ministries. We invite you to join us in our journey of faith. As you are committed to the church, the church will be committed to you.
To become a member of a church is to formally commit oneself to an identifiable, body of believers who have joined together for specific, divinely ordained purposes. These purposes include receiving instruction from God’s Word and following those instruction’s of God. It is not only being a hearer of the Word, but also a doer of the Word.
Becoming a member of this church isn’t difficult at all. We just ask you to do three things:
– Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
– Be baptized by immersion if you haven’t already
– Be committed to your Christian commitment by accepting the responsibilities and duties required to be a member of this church.
If you are in a relationship with Christ and have been baptized, then all you need to do is come forward during an invitation to Christian Commitment and let the pastor know you wish to join the church. A person joining the church by this means would be affirming that they are in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that they have been baptized by a church of like faith.
If you wish to join the church and haven’t been baptized, True Word has a baptismal pool and the Pastor will baptize you here.
Jesus Christ was baptized and He taught us that baptism is a way in which we can publicly profess that we have accepted him as our Lord and Savior. Baptism symbolically represents the cleansing or transformation that has taken place in our lives through our personal faith in Christ Jesus, and it is really the first step of obedience we take in our spiritual life.
As a believer in Christ that have chosen to become a member of a Body of Christ, True Word Outreach Ministries, it now means you are a follower of Christ. As a member, you should have a desire to attend church and have regular fellowship with other believers. It means you are ready and willing to commence working in the Kingdom of God, and serving in any capacity in which there is a need. It is essential to your walk of faith, and it will help you as God molds you into the image of Christ.
